People who care. Connections that matter.
At Frogley Speech Therapy, our team brings together experience, creativity and a genuine love of working with children. Maureen Frogley
Speech-Language Pathologist & Owner
Connection and communication have been at the heart of Maureen’s work with children for more than 25 years. A Speech-Language Pathologist since 2001, Maureen believes that meaningful communication develops through relationships, acceptance, play and experiences that are engaging and fun. Her approach is individualized, evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming and focused on supporting the whole child — not simply a set of speech or language skills.
Maureen earned her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2001 after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois. She spent the first 12 years of her career specializing in Early Intervention, working with infants, toddlers, preschool-aged children and their families in Illinois. After moving to Canada in 2013, she continued supporting children and families in private practice and went on to establish Frogley Speech Therapy.
Throughout her career, Maureen has worked with children and youth with a wide range of communication and learning needs. Her areas of experience include early communication and play, speech sound development, motor speech disorders, language development, AAC, Gestalt Language Processing, social communication and literacy. She has extensive experience supporting autistic children, as well as children with Down syndrome and a variety of developmental, genetic and communication differences.
Maureen believes there is no single way that communication — or therapy — should look. She considers each child’s strengths, interests, sensory and regulation needs, communication style and relationships when developing therapy. Whether a child communicates through speech, AAC, gestures, body language or a combination of approaches, the goal is meaningful communication that helps them connect with others, advocate for themselves and participate in their world.
As a parent of three adult children, Maureen also brings the perspective of a parent who has personally navigated developmental services, education and support systems for her own family. This experience has deeply shaped the way she partners with families. She understands that parents know their children best and believes they should feel informed, supported and empowered to advocate for what their child needs.
Maureen loves partnering with families through both the challenges and celebrations of development. She believes strongly that growth happens — and children can surprise us along the way.
Outside the Lily Pad… Maureen can be found spending time with her family, lifting weights or on the pickleball court — she plays A LOT of pickleball.
